In August 2008, we successfully auctioned a portfolio of 5.8 million Certified Emission Reductions, demonstrating our understanding of international compliance buyers and ability to develop innovatively structured sales.
Camco is recognised as one of the best project developers in the market and a leader in demonstrating strong financial structuring and placement capabilities for carbon credits.
We have one of the largest portfolios of carbon credits in the world from which buyers can purchase Certified Emission Reductions (CERs) and Emission Reduction Units (ERUs) from projects in the compliance markets (Clean Development Mechanism and Joint Implementation) and voluntary carbon offsets from projects in the voluntary markets. Our carbon asset commercialisation model is designed to secure maximum delivery from quality projects.
We continue to break new ground in establishing tailored contracting structures that better serve the needs of a more mature carbon market.
Our voluntary offsets are developed with the same rigour as our CDM and JI projects for the compliance markets and each has a story to tell. We work with each buyer to identify projects from our portfolio that meet their preferences in terms of technology, geography, environmental and social benefits, risk, volume size, vintage development stage and price.
